We are trying to create a “better” custom calendar using the dynamic content tags in our LearnCenter.
Has anyone had any success in doing this? We really want to show the courses span over the days they are going on, available seats, pricing, etc and be able to display the calendar either by product name or course name.
I’m being told by Learn.com that it’s impossible but some of my coworkers have said that other users (at user forums) have said they have done it.
Any thoughts/ideas would be much appreciated!
Anne
The calendar is a static DCT (Dynamic Content Tag) that cannot currently be altered. There are a number of product requests that are similar in nature to what you are asking about. It’s been on the drawing board for quite some time.
What I’ve seen some Learn.com clients do is use a mock calendar format and add the events in manually by copying and pasting the links in the respective dates. You could try another calendaring program to integrate with LearnCenter. There are several ways to do this without having to go straight to the vendor or incur high development costs.
It all depends on how you have your course offerings set up on what the best way to accomplish this would be. I’d be interested to see how it turns out!
Thanks,

From what I saw at the Learn conference earlier this year, those that want more customization on the calendar just create a static calendar with HTML and ignore the built in calendar. I guess this will work depending on the number of events you have going on.
